Cosmetic Dentistry

Cosmetic Bondings

Cosmetic bonding is a simple process of bonding tooth coloured resins to the tooth to improve its appearance. This cosmetic dental treatment is suggested to reshape chipped tooth, decayed tooth, discoloured tooth and to fill gaps between teeth. Unlike dental veneers cosmetic bonding does not require mould and can be performed in a single visit. The process is minimally invasive. Shade guides are used by cosmetic dentists to match the colour of resin with tooth colour. Care should be taken not to bite on hard items such as nails or pens. Smoking cigarettes consumption of dark coloured fluids like tea, coffee and cola can discolour the resin so these practices should be avoided.

Dental Veneers

Porcelain Veneers are artistically designed custom thin porcelain layers that are bonded on to teeth to create straight, healthy looking teeth without the use of orthodontics. It is usually a 2 visit procedure. During the first visit the dentist removes a small amount of the enamel & takes an impression, which is sent to our highly qualified technicians who design the Custom Veneers. It usually takes 7-10 days for the Veneers to be back. During this period the patient wears temporary Veneers that are custom crafted by the dentist.

Our office also specializes in the Revolutionary No shots, No drills and Painless Lumineers. Call our office to find out if you are a candidate for this revolutionary procedure for enhancing your smile.

Crown Lengthening

Crown lengthening is a process of reshaping the soft gum tissues and bones in order to expose more of natural tooth/teeth. Crown lengthening can help change a gummy smile. Depending on the complexity of the condition dentists set treatment plans for cosmetic enhancement. Sometimes simple scalpels may be sufficient to remove excess gum tissues and improve the smile. In other cases where there is a cavity below the gum line dentists may remove some portion of the supporting bone structure to restore the tooth and contour the gum tissues accordingly.

Porcelain Inlays

Replacing large fillings in back teeth often requires stronger, more precisely contoured restorations. These are called inlays or onlays depending on whether they are being placed inside the tooth or on its outer surface. These restorations need to be custom-made at an off-site dental lab; therefore, two visits may be required. Once the dental office receives the custom inlay or onlay, the patient returns to the dentist's office, where the restorations are bonded into place.

Porcelain Onlays

Onlays protect teeth similarly to crowns, but conserve more natural tooth structure. Onlays should provide decades of service. Our Doctor has restored beauty and function to the teeth of thousands of patients through the placement of custom-crafted inlays and onlays.

Porcelain Crowns

Dental crowns protect the natural tooth and improve the appearance of the smile. Porcelain can be shaped to mimic the appearance of a natural crown which is why it is highly preferred in cosmetic dentistry. The crowns look very natural. They have a characteristic of translucency which is why they are bright giving them an esthetic edge. They can be used to protect damaged tooth, severely decayed tooth or discolored tooth. Their bio-compatibility is another added benefit. These crowns are more likely to be used when restoring front teeth.

Botox Treatment

Botox Injections can reduce the signs of ageing by reducing the muscle activity and wrinkles of the eyebrow and forehead. Botulinum toxin used in Botox injections is a sterile, purified protein produced from the bacteria, Clostridium botulinum, in the laboratory. Botox injected in small amounts into facial muscles binds to the nerve endings supplying the muscle and prevents nerve impulses from travelling to the muscle. When injected into muscle, it weakens or paralyses the muscle around the area injected for a typical period of several months. The resultant weakening or paralysing effect on the facial muscle temporarily reduces or eliminates previous skin creasing and new skin creasing is avoided. Botox may take several days to have its effect, and the effect typically lasts 3-6 months, in most individuals, before full muscle movement returns. At that point further treatment may be elected.

Smile Makeovers

Smile makeover involves a comprehensive approach towards improving aesthetics of the smile. Use of veneers, Lumineers ,crowns and implants can help improve a smile. Dentists perform thorough examination of teeth and gums to arrive at a treatment plan. There are a number of cosmetic procedures that may help achieve the most attractive smile. Smile makeover is hence a combination of different dental procedures which are aimed at making the smile more attractive.
